The Great Western

Writing on the corners of napkins,
Just small ideas,
Erupting mind,
Words begin to unwind.

A dark track
And full flooding clouds,
Disturbance -tapped shoulder
The guard's ticket check.

Swiftly sweep the trees; they pass,
Smudges of emerald greens
Mixed with feasting cows, then
My full rubbish bag-

It hangs by the window;
The squashing vanilla yoghurt,
The plain crisps, and then
The cornish fudge.

Home will come soon,
A few hours,
Passed another place,
Unfamiliar.

Thoughts join,
Pieces fall free,
Mind's been broken,
The window fully open.

I love...
the way my house smells when I've just come back from holiday.
the way my cat waits for me outside the house for me everyday.
the smell of birthday candles when they have just been blown out.
the hectic sound of the city.
the chill on my arms when camping out and looking up at the stars.
dancing like no one is watching.
people's individual scents.
the sound of bubblewrap popped between my fingers.
the feel of the summer breeze against my cheek.
my cats pawprints in the snow.
when my hair blows everywhere in a car with the top down.
running down a huge hill and letting everything out.
sitting on the bridge over the railway and feeling the trains under my feet.
when someone I havn't seen in a very long time gives me a big hug.
watching the same clips on youtube again and again.
looking through all of my photos.
the recognisible sound of my parents car arriving on the drive.
the sound of someone turning the page of their book.
the clear blue sky.
jumping at a gig even if my feet hurt.
brand new environments and people.
trying a new food.
when people say "I love you".
